The waves fired up the Maui crew this past weekend as the Maui competitors only, NSSA Hawaii RVCA series contest saw the best waves of summer blast through the Lahaina Harbor surf break. Four to eight foot faces came through for some heavy right handers on the south shore break as the fierce competition brought out some bar level raising action. Maui veteran surf and shaper Matt Kinoshita said, "The waves are as good as it gets. Not only good but some of the biggest surf we have seen all summer long.
