It's on, The Barney Miller Classic 2009

Its that time of year again, but this time its gonna be bigger & better. The 11th Annual Barney Miller Classic is ready to hit Sawtell again on the 7th and 8th, 2009. Again 1st place of the Open mens will walk away with $2500 cash!

The event has become more than just a surf contest by the addition of an sporting memorability auction night to start the weekend on the friday 6th. This has become a vital part of raising money for the person we choose.

Back in 1999, a mate & fellow surfer, Joel ' Tubby' Bath started the comp as his Design & Technology HSC project & decided to donate all the money raised towards my rehabilitation after I was involved in a serious car accident, momentarily restricting me to a wheelchair.

This year the money raised will be going to Billy Ross. Bill was involved in a car crash last year in Darwin consequently breaking his neck and because of some shithouse regulations of an insurance company, he was left uninsured.

This year on Friday 6th we are hoping to be auctioning off alot of great items ranging from signed NRL footy jerseys & surfboards, memorabilia from surfing legends to awesome prize packs. The auction will be held at the Sawtell Hotel starting about 7pm. Tickets will be available sometime soon, please hit me up for more details. I AM ASKING FOR ANYONE WHO CAN HELP OR KNOWS SOMEONE WHO MAY BE ABLE TO DONATE AUCTION ITEMS FOR THE NIGHT, AS THIS IS WHERE THE MAJORITY OF THE FUNDS ARE RAISED AND WE NEED TO RAISE AS MUCH AS WE CAN FOR BILLY!!!

Saturday 7th Nov. Will kick off the first round of surfing at 7am. That night we will be holding the 'Weekend at Barney's' band night at the Sawtell Hotel. Bands to be announced.... Also on this night we are happy to announce that we will be holding for the first time ever a "MISS BARNEY MILLER FASHION AND BIKINI" contest proudly presented by Jade Kohl.

Divisions included are Cadets, Juniors, Open, Over 28's and 40's mens, Open and Junior Womens..You can get an entry form from surfing mags, Tracks & Waves which will be available in next 2 months & local surfshops along the North Coast. Feel free to message me if you have any enquiries.

Thanks to all the sponsors who have helped out with this years event & IF YOU CAN HELP OR KNOW OF ANYONE THAT CAN IN ANYWAY please be in contact with me otherwise hope to see you all there, its gonna be a pisser!
