
CRESCENT Head surfer Will Coy had an amazing Australia Day on Wednesday.
He was the talk of the Hurley Burleigh Pro Junior at Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast.
Coy posted a big upset by defeating ASP World Junior number two ranked surfer Dale Staples (RSA) who finished in second place with fellow Australian Michael McCarron eliminated in third and Joshua Sherwell in fourth.
The 6-star ASP Hurley Burleigh Pro Junior is one of the most prestigious junior surfing events in the world hosting more than 130 of the world’s best professional junior surfers as well as boasting a world record US $25,000 first place cheque.
