Surfing NSW
Port Macquarie NSW
31 Oct - 1 November, 2009
Held in punchy 1-metre (3ft) beach break waves at Lighthouse Beach.
The early rounds of the unique 3-round format, which was the brain child of current ASP World Tour surfer and Ocean & Earth team rider Phil Macdonald, saw some outstanding surfing performances with local ace Matt Banting and Ellie-Jean Coffey heading the charge to maintain dominant lead positions on the Teenage Rampage leader board in their respective divisions.
With only the top 4 placed surfers after 3 rounds in each division progressing to the final, the slate was wiped clean for the final, opening the door for potential upsets.
Flanagan surfboards team rider Phoenix Graham done well against his older apponents but was unlucky in the final when he lost a fin had to go to returnto the beach and change his board, this inturn lost him valuable time and he couldnt get the wave' s he needed in the final minutes of the heat.As a consilation prize Phoenix was awarded ''the best wave'' by the judges and scored $100.
