
Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 27 January, 2010 : - - Boardwear brand Protest has signed World Qualifying Series (WQS) surfer Sarah Beardmore to its team. Sarah, 26, has joined Protest as their first UK rider following a highly successful year finishing in the top five European riders in the WQS and becoming British Champion.
Jereon Coppens, Protest European brand manager, said; “We have been searching for a girl who is world class in her sport and also has the drive and passion to get where she wants to be. With her personality and enthusiasm, Sarah is an inspiration to others girls to want to surf more, just as Protest is trying to do.
“She is a fantastic addition to our team of riders and will really motivate her teammates to be as ambitious in their pursuit of success. Sarah is also incredibly creative, which will be reflected in our designs for the riders inspired collection.”
Country manager, Paul Wilkinson, believes she will be the face of the brand in the UK; “We’ve been following Sarah’s progress for a long time and we’re excited to welcome her onboard. Sarah is not only a fantastic surfer but also an amazing role model for other British riders to look up to. “She has a remarkable track record in international tours and we want to support her in becoming the first British girl to make the WCT.
