Dylan takes a hack in the Menehune finals
11 year old Flanagan Surfboards team rider Dylan Lehmann has just returned home to Maui after a solid showing in the Hawaii Regional NSSA Championships held at Kewalos Basin on Oahu's south shore.
The young grom was competing in two divisons in the 11 to 12 age bracket. On the first day of competition Dylan narrowly missed advancing in open boys going down with a split decsion from the judges. He took that to heart and came back the following day on a mission posting 7.5s in two heats gathering 2nd place in both and earning a birth in the finals of the Menehune division. With a 6th place finish Dylan easily qualified for a national seed in the Menehune division and also secured a national seed for the open boys. Come June the grom will be packing his Flano's and heading to Cali with the Quicksilver team to take a run at the Nationals...next stop after that the new Flanagan Surfboards HQ in Australia.
