Flanagan Surfboards ''grom squad'' team member Dylan Lehmann smashed the field to take out the Mini Groms in the latest RVCA NSSA contest held on Maui last weekend,here is the official press release.
MAUI 4* CONTEST @ HONOLAU BAY PRESS RELEASE
Saturday march 7th 2009 was our Maui 4* make up event.. It was held at a new location Honolua Bay! We have never had a NSSA event there before… We were so lucky to have semi perfect waves. Ian Gentil was busting 10’s like it was no big deal. Which lead him into a few Big wins open jrs, expl menehunes, and expl boys! Also Tanner Hendrickson was showing off his knowledge of this break with wins in Open Mens and Expl Mens divisions. While all of this amazing surfing was going on we also had a chance to see the whales jumping on the oustside of the break… Chaz Kinoshita won the open boys with perfect 10’s across the board. Makana Eleogram came from Hana and killed it with 9.5’s and 10’s in the Expl Jrs and took the win, Dylan Lehmann took out the Mini Groms in style putting him on top of the ratings in his age group. We NSSA HAWAII need to send big Mahalo’s out to Auntie Donna and Papa John for all the help and the chili and rice with hotdogs… Also David Daly for all he does for Nssa Hawaii!
